There is a birth of a George R Grant in the Staines admin area in june 1942. It shows the mothers maiden name as Grant.

This normally means that the mother was unmarried and therefore named Margaret Grant.

This lady would have been born about 1920 and her name was Margaret. She married an Alexander Grant or Alexander McCullum Grant. Could her name have been Margaret McCullum perhaps?

She was born and lived in Scotland but not sure where. We know she lived in Ashford, Middlesex in 1942 and had a son who she named George and who was adopted.

Bit of a long shot that anyone would have information but maybe you could give me an idea of what else I could do. Are the Scottish records of births etc available yet?
