trying to find info on my step dad his name was claude wallace cranch born in marylebone in 1915, could anyone tell me of his parents, grandparents or siblings thank you

Potty

Potty Report 6 Dec 2007 13:20

This is his birth registration:
Cranch Claude W Allerton Marylebone 1a 771

Allerton is his mother's maiden name.

With this reference you can obtain his birth cert from the GRO which will give you his father's name and occupation.

Potty Report 6 Dec 2007 13:22

This could be his parents' marriage registration:
Marriages Dec 1911 (>99%)

Allerton Lily M Willesden 3a 484
Cranch Charles W Willesden 3a 484

Getting this cert would give you their ages, addrees at marriage, occupations, fathers' names and occupations.

I can't find any siblings.

Deborah

You can search on freebmd (http://www.freebmd.org.uk/) to find births, marriages and deaths.

The 1881 census is free to view on Ancestry (www.ancestry.co.uk/). All other census from 1841 to 1901 are also on there but you have to have a subscription to view. I think there is a 14 day free trial on at the moment.
