Hi Jill
THanks for your encouragement.I seem to be banging my head against a brick wall with these Fowlers.
On the 1841 Robert was with wife Sarah and baby Sarah aged 2. I cann't find them on any other census or find a death. Robert is in a lodging house in 1851.My Gt grandad also Robert the youngest child, born 1842, I cann't find on any census before the 1871 when he was married to his 2 nd wife .These Fowlers seem to be hiding from me. Thanks again .
Regards Mary

You won't have father's name on the marriage lines - they only add that after 1837 on the certificates. You will have witnesses though and one of them might be his father or mother. (Although it doesn't give you a relationship of course so you're sort of in guesswork land.)

Don't give up though. Sooner or later you will find his baptism records. Even if you have to order every film for every church in the area from the LDS. You will get there!

According to the 1841 and 1851 census Robert Fowler was born Liverpool in 1810/11.
He married Sarah Hartley at St Peter's Liverpool in 1835.
I cann't find his baptism and was wondering if the parish records for his marriage give his fathers name like they do on a marriage certificate or do I give up hoping to find more about the Fowler family.
Regards Mary
