Thank you so much Claire,

Once again you have come up trumps. I can now put a date of between 1882 to 1891 on my photo.

bye Helen

Hello,

Over the past few weeks I have been given a lot of help regarding my SHALLCROSS family tree. This morning I was emailed a picture of Thomas Shallcross grocery shop at 26 St Edward Street Leek. I am trying to put a date to this photo. The premises next door at 24 St Edward St is the Globe Inn, however I can only partially read the sign which looks like a George H Bow ??? Licenced Victualer.

1881 census, 1896 & 1904 Kellys Directory Staffordshire have listed different publicans.

I am hoping that maybe 1871 or 1891 census may come up trumps.

I would be very grateful is someone could look at the images of Thomas Shallcross on these census, and scroll back to No 24 and give me the occupants details.

Thomas Shallcross details is born 1820, Leek, Staffordshire, occupation Grocer, Provision Dealer.

Many thanks
Helen
