BORN 1901, WAS THAT TOO OLD TO ENLIST IN WW1?

Hi, My father was born in 1901, was he too old to enlist? I beeive he may have been in the Home Guards, is there anyway I can check this? |

My dad born 1906 served in WW2 so only 5 years younger. |

No he wasn't too old for WW11 and yes the Home Guard sounds about right unless he had some other special talent..medical or engineering or intelligence. |

My dad was born 1907 and he would have joined up in WW2 but he was exempt cos he did essential war work . he was a shell turner at the Woolwich Arsenal .had worked there from aged 14. |
