Hi Keith

You are thinking along the same lines as me. It's a mystery isn't it?

Hi all

I think you are right Elouise as I have had my suspicians that Sarah had the middle name Hannah because I found like Keith, that the Sarah H in 1871 is 'my' Sarah and did marry William wiltshire. Tom was living with them in 1871 because he had married Sarah Tudor in 1870, they had their first child James and then Sarah 'dissapears' before the 1871 census is taken. I thought that she must have died in childbirth or thereabouts , but there is no sign of a death for her. That is another mystery for me to solve. Do you think that she could have left Tom and the baby or is there some other reason that I can't find her death?

Thanks

Sarah

Thomas's marriage?

Name: Tom Nutt
Year of Registration: 1870
Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar
District: Birmingham (1837-1924)
County: Warwickshire
Volume: 6d
Page: 76

On same page Mary Price or Sarah Tudor.

Unfortunately cannot see a death for a Mary or Sarah Nutt to tie in with the marriage and possible death in childbirth.

On the 1861 Elouise found above, Thomas 1816 is a railway labourer, on the 1851, Tom snr is a railway porter, both children shown as born Birmingham on 1861.

Also found this, so suspect Sarah/Hannah are one and the same.

Name: Sarahh Hannah Nutt
Year of Registration: 1843
Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun
District: Warwick (To 1932)
County: Warwickshire
Volume: 16

Hi Elouise

This does look like them. I have been having problems trying to trace this family in 1861 ( probably because Tom's age was transcribed wrongly at the time )but it looks like you have found them.
Thank you very much, I appreciate you taking time to do this look up for me.

Best wishes

Please could someone kindly look up my 3x Gt Grandparents Thomas and Sarah Nutt on the 1861 census for Birmingham. According to the 1851 census for Aston, Birmingham ,Thomas was born about 1812 Banbury Oxfordshire and Sarah was born about 1810 Fenny Compton Warwickshire. They had a daughter Sarah born about 1843 Leamington and a son Tom ( my 2x Gt Grandfather )born 1849 Birmingham. I don't know if they had any other children but I am hoping the 1861 census will tell me.

many thanks

Sarah
