Thank you all very much for all your help. The address of Vyvyan Road does still exists in Camborne and my father used to say the family used to live there at one time so it all ties in. Will try the Cornwall online census for Tregony for John and see what I can find. Many thanks to everyone.

There are about a dozen John Williams marrying Elizabeth ??? between 1861 and 1871 registered in Redruth (Camborne is not a registration place). There are a couple of hundred JW marrying E in Cornwall in those years!


I tried on ancestry for Elizabeth, b.ca 1843, Camborne, to see if I could find her with her parents. I got over 150 on the 1861 Census and more than that on the 1851.


I then tried to find Arthur's birth certificate, as this is the other way to find mother's maiden name .................. couldn't find him!

Thanks for your help I know that a step sister did marry a step brother somewhere and the family did orignated from Porthleven/Breage area in the 1860s but can you now tell me where John and his wife Elizabeth came from. Elizabeth's maiden name Many thanks in anticipation. I know its a big order.

My Great G Grandfather was Arthur Williams b 1869 in Camborne he married a Catherine Batten of Porthleven Had Children Arthur,Stanley,Violet,Jessie,Freddie and Maurice. That is all I know Could someone possibly enlighten me on Arthur b 1869 parents. Many thanks from a wet and windy Cornwall. Janet.
