Joan,

Many thanks for your time.... I guess they could have been "in transit" .. they certainly moved around a lot.

Its not crucial, just would have been nice to see where they were!

Iris,

I can't find this family on the 1891 census--it's possible they were in between residences during the time the census was taken.

Lew... I thought that at first, but he's not a son, he's a boarder. I have looked for other Joy's born in Austria but can't find any, he must be a nephew or something, but not sure where the connection is at the moment.

Can anyone find this family?
Here they are on the 1881 census.
The first wife must have died/divorced as in 1888 Charles remarries to a Mary from Herefordshire b1855.

Charles E. Joy 36 - should be Charles P
Elizabeth Joy 38 - this will be MARY in 1891 b1855

Isabella E. Joy 9 born Limber, Lincolnshire
John T. Joy 1 - born Rugby, Warks
William E. Joy 7 born Exning, Newmarket, Cambs
Charlotte Roddis 14 - servant

As you can see, 10 years later, he could be anywhere!! The marriage in 1888 was in Paddington, London.

I have tried most combinations of children and parents..

Many thanks in advance..
(I have them in 1901 in Willesden, Middlesex, but haven't posted here as most of the children have left home)
