Hi, I received my Great Grandfather's birth certificate today and using it I have been able to add generations up to his great Grandfather but now I am stuck. I have a John Mabey born 1802 in Glasgow Scotland & his wife Jane born in 1903 in Longbready Dorset. I need to get John Mabey's birth record & his marriage record ( I believe they married in Dorset) but I'm finding the parish records a little confusing. Does anyone have any tips on how I should be going about finding information ?? |

on familysearch.org there's a marriage of a John Mabey (born 1802, Glasgow, Lanarck, Scotland) to a Jane. Marriage 1825 Mapperton, Dorset. His parents noted as Jonathan Mabey and Mary Joyce. |

The county of Dorset is well served by OPC's. There are numerous transcriptions of parish records available on the sites. |
