Or maybe it is Birley i.e. Burleigh (nr Stroud) mispelt.
Could be the widow of Richard died June qtr of 1840 in Stroud. vol 11 p327.

In the 1851 census there is a Hannah Workman lodging at Stonehouse aged 62. She is a hand loom weaver and a widow. Birthplace has been transcribed as Birley but looks like Bisley.

Interesting. Stroud is quite near to Painswick. A workhouse maybe? Thanks.

Free BMD has the death of a Hannah Workman June Q 1840, Gloucester and a Richard Workman June Q 1840, Stroud.
Don't know if they might be yours and why they would be in different places.

Thanks. Was there any sign of either of them? One might have died by then.

Can someone kindly look to see if there is an 1841 record for Richard and Hannah Workman. They should be living in Painswick, Gloucestershire. Born around 1780/85 ish I should imagine. Thanks a lot!
