Newspaper look up needed: News of the World: The N

Sally Report 10 Dec 2007 08:41

One of my relatives has suddenly mentioned that my uncle John Henry Pearce (Jack) of Calstock Cornwall, born 1890, having died single on 8th February 1946 in Bodmin asylum was the subject of a newspaper appeal asking for relatives to come forward. Maybe it was for his will, I don't know, but it would almost certainly have some family information/background in it. The relative in question had a feeling it was published in the News of the World. Is anyone visiting The Newspapers Reading Room at Colindale, North London?

Sorry not going to Colindale - but a couple (or three) of suggestions

Have you tried the London Gazette www.londongazette.co.uk

Or the local newspaper in Cornwall?

Or HMCS to search for a Will for you - there is a probate office in Bodmin - see website for details
