Hi
I am having difficulty tracing my mason family, In particular John Mason. This has been an issue for all members of the family who have done the family tree research.
The story goes, John Mason came to england as a baby with his mother, reasons not quite known but May be down to threat of beheading in france, Johns mother worked for a wealthy family by the Name of Mason, She stole the identity of the masons son, who was about the same age as my ancester and he thereafter went by that name. His real name is unknown!
Anyone know of a similar story in thier family?
