Find Ancestors

Please does anyone have Parish Registers of Bury St Edmunds,Suffolk.I am trying to trace George William Fisher b. 1855. Linda

Are you sure of that date as i was trying to find him in the census and couldn't see him

I have only traced him in the 1881,1891, & 1901 Census, after that I have,nt had any luck. Linda

You,ve found the correct person but I never seem to be able to go any further back.

What makes you think he was born in Bury St Edmunds..all 3 say Suffolk and only 1 says Bury..and his wife has 3 different names

Do you have his M/C for his dads name

I do,nt have the marriage certificate. His first wife only gives her name as Sarah H. The second one was Susannah. I do have one of his childrens birth certificate.

so what the maiden name of the mum and which mum is it...cos i think there all the same lady and i see if i can see the marriage you'll need the dads name to pick him up in the census

The two woman were different ages. Its difficult.

All 3 women were born in Suffolk
Ann & Susannah were the same year born
Sarah H out by 1 year

But it looks like you don't want to give out any info..i can't help..but then again im sure people have tried to help with this before

The only info I have is the same as I have had today. I,m open to any suggestions. Where do you think I should look next ? By the way thankyou for your help so far.

You said you had 1 of the childrens B/C

So i asked what was the mum maiden name and i'll look for the marriage..Then if you get the M/C it will give you his dads name to then find him in the census

It was Amos Fishers birth certificate I have.He was born 1889.It gave the parents names George & Susannah formerly Richardson.Amos was the youngest son (my grandfather)

Unfortunately the only way to know which is your Alice, is to send for the certificates........hopefully one will be right and then you can find out what Sarahs maiden name was... and send for the marriage certificate for George Fisher and Sarah ?
which will give you Georges fathers name and occupation.
