If William did die, where is Amy??

Can't find her on a census, can't find a death or marriage for her.

I did find a William Cates of the right age for the son on the 1871 Census living with grandparents (and two aparent siblings) on the 1881.

I think the Amy in 1871 who is is Cheam/Epsom is the same one that is in Croydon in 1881
