last week some great members helped me find who i thought was my uncles dad but just recieved his marraige cert and father is not the same name as in the census is ralph haymes{haynes}born in birmingham in 1880 could anybody help please xx

You need to start with your uncle

Get his birth cert, and find out the names of both of his parents........then you can look for their marriage, and be sure of getting the right cert

Having said that....your uncle must be the brother of one of your parents.........what were the names of your grandparents?

have got my uncle birth cert his parents were margaret mary haymes nee hughes and father is ralph haymes also got there marriage certificate and the names are right though ralph took 4 years off his age

missed the last part of your question ralphs father was called richard haymes though on the census he is with a man called james haymes

it took place in 1929 at st chads cathederal in birmingham ralph was a widower and margaret was a spinster
