James was my grandfather. 1880 - 1925 born in Gibraltar, I cannot find his birth certificate anywhere, he was sent to Canada at 11 to work on the farms and Joined the Seaforth Highlanders and fought in WW11 for Britain, marrying Ada Cotterill (although I cannot find a marriage cert.) and returning to Ontario in Canada where they had 3 daughters before his death.

His mother was Annie Dunstan born 1848 and I have managed to trace most of Annie's life who became a widow in 1901

His Father Fred Staniforth was a Sapper in R.E. in March 1884 this is all I can find out about him, any help would be appreciated, I seem to have hit a brick wall
