Thanks for that. I am sure that I have ordered these birth certificates before and discounted them but cannot locate them within my records. For completeness have re-ordered them today.I appreciate your help.

Kind Regards

Karen

There are two possible birth entries or have you ruled them out.

Richard Wade a/m/j 1851 Preston Vol 21 page 716

Richard Wade a/m/j 1853 Preston Vol 8e page 390.

This is a re-posting of a message I entered on this site in November 2004. Since that time I have made no progress with this side of my family tree and am now desparate for advice on how to proceed.I am hoping that something in the content of my story is familiar to someone out there!

My Great-Grandfather was named Richard Wade and born circa 1852.His Mother was named Mary and born circa 1821. I say circa in both cases as I cannot find a birth certificate for either and am going from the details on a couple of census forms which have differing details on them. I have found a marriage certificate for Richard but there are no details entered regarding his parents.

From word of mouth, but alas no proof, I believe there to have been a separation or divorce between Mary and her husband which may have taken place in Ireland and possibly resulting in Mary adopting her maiden name of Wade.

There also appears to be a recurring connection with Cananda as at least two of Richard's sons went there. Ther eldest Matthew returned to Preston Lancashire and was my Grandfather but his brother Richard junior appears to have remained in Canada. I have no details of any of the Canadian connection at all.

There are also some family christian names which crop up quite regularly-Richard, Matthew, Ellen and Isabella.

If anybody even thinks they may have some information in this regard I would be extremely grateful of them contacting me.

Karen Foster (nee Wade)
