Why don't you send a letter to the Melton Times and Rutland Times asking for former residents to come forward. I'm fairly sure they would print it on their letter pages. Alternatively you could ask any of the local radio stations to put out a plea for you.

Happy hunting Erica

I am trying to trace some former evacuees to the above village during WW2. We are having a village reunion next year and hope to invite former residents. We already have over 300 old photos and are looking for memories ect.
The names I have been given by Denis Owens who lived in the village at that time are: Jimmy Hubert; Harold Oliver; Ron Oliver; Ann Stephenson and Sita Darnley.
I have looked for the names on here and except for Sita Darnley, to whom I have sent a message, there are too many similar names to decide if it is the right person,

Many thanks Jennifer
