Im pretty sure this is the right family I have Charlotte (daughter) born 1860 so yes it works.!! As for Edward equate ' William' not sure on that one could be his middle name. I dont know who Thomas H Petty is mind you, does it say who he was ? Many thanks for information helped a great deal

Can anyone help please. Im looking for the wife(Charlotte ?) of Edward Hodges b 1833 Newington Surrey. Census information shows that he lived in Brighton and that his wife was born in Brighton Sussex 1836c. I have found a marriage entry in 1854 Vol 2b Page 290 that fits even with the birth of their children George 1855 & Charlotte 1860 . There are 3 names on the mariage entry

William Attree 1854 Jun -Sep Brighton Sussex

Edward Hodges 1854 " " "

Eglah Smith 1854 " " "

On checking LDS I found that William Attree married Eglah Abigil Smith.
