Do you know that we had a Prime Minister in Canada by that name? Not that one, he's too old but possibly a descendant?

Just did a little googling, Suzannah, and came across a query on Ancestry from a Suzy. Could that be you? It mentioned Williamstown and Lake St. Francis. That's my neck of the woods, although have never heard of Sir John's Island. However Williamstown was settled by Sir John Johnson after the American Revolution.

I think there are two of us here!! I am Suzi Wong...not the Suzannah who is searching Tupper...either way ......I am not Suzy who is looking for Sir John's Island either!!

Thanks though for round about query!

So, Suzannah, not Suzi, it sounds as if your Charles Tupper was here in Ontario and not Nova Scotia? We have the Williamstown and the Lake St. Francis in close proximity.
You mentioned on your Ancestry thread that he worked in a store in Williamstown for a Mr. Thompson? The famous explorer David Thompson (well famous for us Canadians) had a store in Williamstown.
I've been searching and can't find anything for your Charles Tupper but will definitely keep looking.
