Sure Dud - I will email them to you.

Found him in 1851 birthplace just given as Stafford - but he seems to have both parents George and Charlotte so perhaps her marital status in 1861 was wrong!

Not sure if it brings you any closer to the right William though.

Hi again Alex.

Like the look of William Bromley aged 22 a cordwainer, especialy as he came from Walsall. Do I ask too much if you are able to look him up on the 1841 and 1851 census to see where abouts in Walsall he w came from. Very many thanks for all your help. Dud.

Also - does William's son's birth certificate give the address he was born at?

I have found a William Bromley who is a shoemaker in 1861 at Shilford Hole, Baswich, Staffs son of Edward and Sarah Bromley - aged 22 born in Baswich.

Possibly Edward's brother William - aged 40 - Shoemaker born in Baswich with a wife Mary living at 23 Sash Street, Stafford St Mary.

Also a William Bromely aged 22 a Cordwainer (same as Shoemaker) son of Charlotte Bromley (aged 42 and unmarried) living at 30 Grey Friars Street, Stafford St. Mary. He was born in Walsall.

He looks more likely to be your man - PM me with your email address and I'll send you the image if you want?

Hi Alex.

Thanks for your reply. The child, also named William Bromley, was with his mother Caroline Spink and was at Forge Lane, Rushall, Staffs in 1961.

Hi Dud

Have you got the details of the child? Have you got him in 1861 with his mother?

Hi.
Can sks please look up a William Bromley in the 1861 census. He was born about 1830 (+/- 10 yrs) He was a shoe maker journeyman in 1857 when he fathered a son born 6/7/57. His name is shown on the birth certificate ,however he was not married to the mother
William was believed to have been born in Staffordshire possibly in the Walsall area where the mother was living at the time.
Long shot I know but it boils down to the fact that I am looking for a William Bromley who was a shoemaker journeyman by trade and possibly living in the Walsll, Staffs area in 1861.
Any help appreciated.

Dud.
