Thanks Maureen, sorry none of the names seem familiar. I do know she had a sister called Charlotte, but I don't know much else about her family.She was married to a Richard Ashton and living in Hackney on the 1891 census.

hi
i have looked at the census for 1871.
there are a number of elizabeth e jones born around that time.
clapton is in hackney or borderline.
a couple of the entries are for bethnal green, i have copied out one of these.
stephen g jones 37 born city of london
ann jones 38 born bethnal green
ann e jones 3 born bethnal green
elizabeth e jones 1 born bethnal green
do any of the other names seem familiar?

My grandmother was born in Clapton London about 1870 I can't find any information about her birth or parents names. If anyone could help me I would be grateful.
