Yes I have Albina Kates birth cert and is says the mother is Elizabeth Jane Bleach and the father is Valentine James Cunningham. My computer is playing up so have to turn it off for a bit of a break. Thank you all very much for looking into this for me. At this point I think James (Valentine) was married several times, it also says he was deceased by the time Albina married and he was in the Army. I think Elizabeth remarried someone Smithers/Smith?

May be you should buy Albina Kate's birth certificate.

That would tell you the mother's maiden name, and you would then be certain whether or not it was Elizabeth Jane Bleach.

Go to www.gro.gov.uk, click on ordering Certificates Online in the box to the right of the screen, and follow instructions.

They willa sk for the GRO reference number, this is the set of 2 numbers below the place name (ie, 2b 462)

I am so sorry for the delay in responding my internet connection went down. Yes I was told by my relation that Valentine (James) did marry Elizabeth Jane Bleach (maybe a 3rd wife?). Elizabeth Jane did have a sister Albina (which fits in with the child Albina Kate born to Valentine. Can anyone find Albina Kate Cunningham in the 1901 census for me? Thanks again it is greatly appreciated.

The name Valentine either first or as a middle name isn't a common name. Perhaps the James Cunningham married to Elizabeth in 1884 is not the correct one????

Valentine (also known as James - which certainly doesnt help!) is being quite elusive so any help in locating him would be wonderful. I cant find him on the 1881 but have his marriage to Elizabeth Jane BLEACH in 1884 Isle of Wight. That is all I know except they had a daughter Albina Kate Cunningham born 1884 in Portsea Hampshire who married Edward James Doherty in 1906 . Any help would be much appreciated.
