Looks as if his parents weren't married when he was born - it was quite common for illiegitimate children to make up a father's name when they married. |

thats where i found the link with the war record for lenton nottingham and and that census with him being a nurse child, that enabled me to find his birth record so i got a copy of his birth certificate and drew a blank as his fathers name wasn't on it, but his marriage certificate shows him as alfred. |

i am trying to find hubert bell 1890, on his marriage certificate to florence lily brenton in stafford in 1919 it shows his dad as alfred bell. i found a war record for a hubert bell of the same age and serving from stafford at the time he signed up in 1914. i found one record for a hubert bell from lenton and got a copy of his birth certificate but only shows his mothers name as charlotte bell, dressmaker and fathers name is blank. any ideas on where to go next please. |
