Hi,
Can anyone help. I am looking for information on my Husbands paternal Grandfather's parents. His name is James Whittaker he was born on 24.10.1928 & died 1994 in the Midlands. I know that his mother's maiden name was Willoughby but I cannot find a marriage between a Whittaker & a Willoughby around the time leading up to his birth.

Does anyone have them in their tree ?

If you have his birthdate, have you found his birth registration, so you can order his birth certificate?

It will certainly have the parents names on it, and you might have a better chance of spotting a marriage with the full names.

If there was a marriage, of course. ;) Hee hee. I'm still looking for the marriage of one set of my grx2 grparents, and I think my siblings' kids will be looking for it long after I'm gone; and I know that another set married about 25 years after their first child was born ...

Hi Claire,

I found the marriage for James' parents.
Although he was born in 1928 his parents were
John Thomas Whittaker and Annie Willoughby who married March quarter 1906 in West Bromwich. Same district James was born in..

There are also 2 brothers born I have found quickly. Them being

Charles Whittaker March quarter 1915 W Brom and George Whittaker June quarter 1913 W Brom.

There well could be more but you will need to manualy* find these on the bmd records.
