Hi all,
I have on the 1881 census: (FindMyPast)
Alice A Rowledge, aged 19
and her daughter:
Edith A Rowledge aged 1.
Census taken in the reg district of Newport Pagnell, sub district, Fenny Stratford, Paris, Bradwell.
I can find no sign of either of them in the 1891 census.
I first thought maybe Alice had married, changing the surname.
BUT, I can't find a marriage anywhere!
Is there any other reason why they wouldn't appear on the 1891 census?

Have you checked for variations in the spelling? Maybe check the first names, dates, places of birth without a surname. My ancestry sub has expired, or I'd have a look!

Well, I've found Edith anyway!
Alice has disappeared off the face of the planet!
She must have married and left Edith with her parents.
Back to the hunt!

Findmypast doesn't allow a search with just first names.
What else could I try to find a marriage for Alice?
