i will send for that death cert anyway
ive just rechecked his birth cert my mistake he was born in devon in 1879 NOT 1882 the son of robert russell &eliza searle

Ages not always right on death certs, could have been miscopied from original register. or person who registered did not know age

Have searched back to 1933 no other registered

no i dont think that will be him for this reason
when his wife died in 1946 she was 60
william was 3 years older he was born in 1882

William J>C> Russell died 1937 q 2 Portsmouth 2b 700 Age 68

Would fit in with Navy perhaps

in ww2

No William J C Russell death registered between 1939 and 1945.

Could he have been killed in action in WW2

hi
further to my previous post {dec 9th} on here [records office}
i now have my grandmothers beatrice death cert
what i would like to know & would be grateful to anyone on here
if they can assist me with the death details of my grandfather the cert states that when beatrice died in kent 1946 she was then a widow my grandfather is william john cyril RUSSELL he was a
quartermaster in the merchant navy
i feel sure that he died sometime 1940 / 1945 also in kent??
i know i have little details on him so thank you for your time
