George Fox
born 1857 Bolton, He was a railway porter and became blind in later life, he was notorious as Blind George

We believe before he became a railway porter he was in the Army and possibly served time in Africa,

He was a notorious Alcoholic and womanizer he died destitute in the Bolton workhouse. in the late 1930's

Again we believe he married a Margaret ? (who wasn't on later Census's) and had two children Henrietta who didn't appear on later census's so we are not sure if she maybe died in infancy, and

MOSSETSI Fox
born 1/04/1888 on 1901 census at aged 12 the day before his 13th birthday he was listed as working ( probably half time i,e half at work half at school) occupation was called a crealor ( a person who lays out the warp threads on a loom) working in a cotton mill

Within 10 years he was married and his oldest son Alfred was born, followed 2 years later by another son George, in th following 21 years (by the time Alfred was married) he progressed to the position of mill manager and bought his own garage

he later became a mill manager, at a firm making fancy knitwear in Bolton

Later he bought a garage on the corner of Crompton Way and Bury Road Bolton I think it was called Mo Fox and sons

Alfred Georges son then had two sons Roy and Alan (Alan is my dad)

ROY Fox
born 1934 he was in the Merchant Navy from the age of 16 to 23 he then was called-up into the army in early 1959 where he died on parade in Aldershot of Bronchial Pneumonia aged 24. Just before he went into the Army he told our family he had big news to tell them when he came back, he never came back and w never found out that news, from the age of 16 dad says they only saw him like twice a year so we really have no idea what this big news was, Did he marry?, was he planned to be married?

any body with any information on any of the above PLEASE GET IN TOUCH

Thank you
