Just noticed that findmyapast now have Civil Service Evidence of Age records - would love to know what the entry says about my ggg grandfather if anyone has any time/ spare credits: -

Henry Goater DOB 1853 Malta - he was a postmaster in Bolton on his death.

They will then be able to contact the Society of Genealogists quoting that reference to order copies of the original documents for a fee of £14. On average the Society holds three pages for each person listed in the index.
