I have had no family contact since I was a toddler but am trying now to create my family tree from Australia. It is just a little difficult! Hurrah for the Internet!
Edith Elizabeth Fisk married Robert Stearman. These were my Grandparents and I would love to know anything about this branch of the family.
Even better would be to discover I have relatives or siblings somewhere in the world!

This would appear to be your granparents marriage registration (from freebmd website - www.freebmd.org.uk/ ). This website is free to search and has birth, marriage and death registration indexes from 1837 to approx 1920. The indexes are not all transcribed yet:

If you buy the certificate ( on line from www.gro.gov.uk/ - costs £7, not sure about postage cost to Australia, but I am sure details will be on the site), it will give you their fathers' names and occupations, and their ages, although sometimes it just has "full age" which means they were over 21.
When you have this information, you can search for them on the cenuses. Most censuses are on subscription or pay to view sites, but if you post a request on the Records Office Board on this site, there are lots of people who will do look ups for you.
Whatever you do, don't buy credits on this site.
The 1881 census is free on the LDS site (www.familysearch.org/).
