Kennington is an area of South London, England, situated within the London Borough of Lambeth. It is a largely working class residential area, and is the location of the The Oval, the well-known cricket stadium.

And there is also a Kensington! There was only one birth record for a Louisa Page and that was in Kensington in1845.

The actual record for 1901 could read either Kenington or Kesington and the place of birth for Frederick is now Kirdford, Sussex.

Does anyone know if there is a Kennington or Kensington in Sussex?

It also looks like Frederick adopted her daughter Alice.

It appears that perhaps the census taker in 1881 misunderstood regarding the place of birth for Louisa because the 1891 census has her place of birth as Kensington (the 1845 birth record may be the correct one).

To go any further back with any confidence, you will really need at least one marriage cert for the fathers name and to possibly get an accurate age (unless full age). Otherwise it will be speculation.

Must say transcriptions seem correct to me, but suspect you are correct with Walton on Thames. Looks like Kierdford on image to me for Frederick

1881 census shows Frederick Randall with Louisa Randall & Alice Edwards, with all 3 of them the info about where they were born seems misspelt.

Frederick:
Pierdford, Sussex, England - with this i've found it should read Kirdford, West Sussex.

Louisa:
Pennington, Surrey, England - could this be Kennington?

Alice:
Wilton On Thames, Surrey, England - could this be Walton-On-Thames?

Louisa's maiden name was Page(Paige) before she married Alfred Edwards. Hackney Sept quarter 1872. Alfred died in 1877.

Louisa married Frederick in Brentford Dec quarter 1879.

Any help would be gratefully received.
