Formal adoption didn't start until 1927 so any aopdtion before this time wil have been on an unofficial basis and you are unlikely to find any records. |

Plaes can someone help me with a little puzzle. 2 siblings on my family tree were adopted by their aunt/uncle between 1881-1891. Their father died in 1880 and i assume their mother died as i cannot find any record of her after 1871! |
