Greatuncle Thomas has not been mentioned in my family before. He was born in Lemington on Tyne, according to the 1901 census. Did he marry, have children? Anyone have any relatives by this name?
His parents were William and Margaret Scott, and he was one of 9.
They lived at The Orchard in Lemington.

Lemington in the 1901 may just have been a birthplace of convenience -- that's where they were living, and where all but the youngest child is shown as born.

In 1891:

Name: Thomas Scott
Age: 3
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1888
Relation: Son
Father's Name: William
Mother's Name: Margaret
Where born: Newcastle Upon Tyne

Civil Parish: Elswick
Ecclesiastical parish: St Aidan
Town: Newcastle
County/Island: Northumberland
Country: England
Registration district: Newcastle Upon Tyne
Sub-registration district: Westgate
ED, institution, or vessel: 32

Annie Scott 5
Frances Scott 4
George Scott 1
Margaret Scott 25
Thomas Scott 3
William Scott 35
William Scott 6

-- the kids are all shown as born in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

So he could be one of these:

Thomas Scott 1887 Apr-May-Jun Newcastle Upon Tyne
Thomas Edward Scott 1888 Jan-Feb-Mar Newcastle Upon Tyne
Thomas Mott Scott 1888 Apr-May-Jun Newcastle Upon Tyne
Thomas Straney Scott 1888 Apr-May-Jun Newcastle Upon Tyne

Danged non-rare name you've got yourself there. ;)

Given where they were living in 1901, there's a good chance that this was his death:

Name: Thomas Scott
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1888
Year of Registration: 1917
Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar
Age at Death: 29
District: Castle Ward
County: Northumberland
Volume: 10b
Page: 499

He could have married:

Name: Thomas Scott
Year of Registration: 1911
Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep
District: Castle Ward
County: Northumberland
Volume: 10b
Page: 604

Margaret Smurthwaite or Margaret Walker.

There are no Scott-Smurthwaite births transcribed after 1911. For Scott-Walker, there is this one in Castle Ward:

Births Dec 1911
Scott Mary A Walker Castle W. 10b 628

There was a Scott-Walker birth in Morpeth that same quarter, which suggests that the later Scott-Walker births in Morpeth are a different couple.

There are also two Scott-Walker births in Newcastle, but one is in 1922, so again, probably a different couple.

If that couple is your Thomas. It might be worth ordering up the 1911 marriage certificate and birth certificate to check them out.

I just realized you're the Lambert Elizabeth. ;)

You may not have realized that you posted this Scott message under the Lambert surname.

Sorry Kathryn, another of those senior moments. Such a diverse and difficult family too. Thanks for your help.
