my gt uncle was born in 1920 in helensburgh

when he was 16 he joined the policew according to there records but his sister cant remember this

all she remember is a photo of him in the scottish army uniform of green tartan

how can i find out about this man

any ideas

she is desperate to know what happened to her bro

You got me, Louise! I'm useless on Scotland, and things military. And the UK in the 20th century. ;)

He doesn't seem to have been killed in WWII

If he emigrated, say to Canada, there are no accessible records for the time period in question so there's really just no way of finding him if that were the case.

There is an Angus M Mitchell listing in the phone book up to 1979 (in the database at Ancestry):

all the police archives said if hes dead check these places ie gor uk and scot

if not they need a letter
