I have an Annie Rosalind Elams who was born in 1867.
GRO indexes have her under Annie Roseland Elmes b Sudbury.

On the 1871 census RG10/1714 Folio 90 Page 14, she was found under ELUMS at Foxearth, Essex.

I cannot find her on the 1881 census - no doubt under some obscure spelling!

On 1891 Census, her parents Ambrose and Emelia Elams were at Foxearth, Essex, but NO Annie (RG12/1439 Fol 65 Page 9)

I have her on the 1901 census under Annie R. Henley at 35 Romilly Road, Islington.

Who can find her for me on the 1881 and 1891 census - no doubt under some obscure spelling!!

Many thanks for your help
Regards
Jo

Couldbe

Thank you very much for finding Annie for me on the 1881 census. I thought she would be under some obscure spelling.

I think in 1891 she is in London somewhere - again under some obscure spelling.

Thank you again
Regards

West Country Lass

Her parents were born in Foxearth, Essex.

Couldbe has just found me the 1881 census, and Annie is not with her parents in Foxearth, Essex in 1891 Census. I guess she is in London, as she married in 1892

Many thanks for your help

Have a look at this one on the 1891 - ignore the transcript - I think it says Annie R Elams, it is very faded but the age is not really discernable, and it does say born Foxearth, Essex.

Gail / Couldbe

Thank you very much for finding Annie Elams on the 1891 Census. Yes, that is her and I looked forwards and back and found the address to be 8 Chesterfield Gardens, Curzon Street, which you can hardly decipher. Well done for your persistance.

Happy Christmas to you
Best wishes
Jo
