Hi I am trying to trace an Effield Adams previously Gilbert. She was the wife of James Adams and they married in 1848. I have found her in every census bar this one. James was born around 1821 in Portsmouth (I believe) and Effield in Kent. I think they may have gone abroad as James served in the Army. In 1861 he was a Colour Sergeant but his profession was a builder? |
