On another record #35905 I found the current address was 111 Stockport Road, Mossley. Lancashire in 1913. It's also marked in big letters...killed 3 5 1918.

Is this what you were looking for?

This may not be the correct Harold Brierley because the rest of the pages refer to his mother Mrs. Elizabeth Brierley and not his wife.

Hi Wanda
I converted the image to white on black to try and make it easier to read...but the page is extremely faded as you know.

I make no guarantees ... but I think it may be
17A Birmingham Street
West something - or maybe Westminster

As an Aussie I can't use logic as I don't know the English locales to make 'informed deductions'

He appears to have been stationed in Bedford and been a bit norti....drunk and disorderly, absent without leave etc, hehehe 35900

page 35897
Full Address on discharge

Enlisted 3 Apr 1918
Discharged 6 Dec 1918

page 35903 a death record for
Harold Sergeant Brierley
died 1918, aged 19 months
father Harold, private Royal Engineers, no 351880
Mother Lydia
cause of death - acute bronchitis/cardiac failure

page 35904 is a memorandum requesting payment from a Mr Melling for the death certificate of Harold Sergeant Brierley

page 35902 appears to be Harolds 'Invalid Discharge' from service

Harold was tested at Fenny Stratford, efficient signalman

page 35892 start of service records
Name : Brierly, Harold
Service number 351880

Hope this helps
