Find Ancestors

I just can't seem to find him can anyone help?. He was born in / around Sheffield at the end of 1800's. He was a twin, but brother died at or soon after birth. He married May Godson (tracing her was easy!). He was a soldier in the First World War and lost the use of his right arm. I've found one in 1893, but I really don't think it's him! Can people sometimes just get missed off the census and miss a decade?!!!!

Do you have his marriage cert for his age and the name of his father etc

Your best course of action would be to obtain the marriage cert.

It will tell you his age at the time, plus the name and occupation of his father.

If he was definitely a twin, there will be another birth registration for the surname on the same page

As for the twin, we were told my father had a twin who died at birth, only to find out he was born the year before. It could have been a brother close in age.
