i'm wondering if anyone out there can help me.my great grandfather was william d lanceley born in chester around 1866.in the census records i have looked at,the only one listed around this time was registered as being born in clotton cheshire-registration district(chester,tattenhall) im presuming this may be him,from what i know,the lanceley family,somewhere along the line,were iron-founders and i think also owned a sweet factory.does this ring any bells with anyone out there?

many thanks vera i think this maybe along the right lines,my grandad (williams son) was charles herbert lanceley born in 1892 and i can see from the household charles seems to be favourite family name

Hi Charles Henry Williams brother married Lily Mitchell in 1894.. on IIGI as Cheshire.. father Charles..

I found the same family in 1871 but am wondering about Charles's age 58.. Martha might be a second wife..i will have a dig around..

Reading your first post again, this is Charles and family in 1851. Address is incorrect as should read Saughall and not Langhall!!
