She did have a brother Ernest born in 1898 though.

The Ridgleys you mentioned are all the children of Dorothy.
One of them - Barbara is my mum.
My mum says thankyou also.
I will now probably buy the marriage certificates to find out once and for all.

She could and that is probably why it is difficult to trace her.

It would have saved a lot of looking up if you'd told us her married name in your original message.

No death betweeen 1984 and 2005......of course, if she re-married, then looking for Ridgley will not be relevant
