I have been told my fathers dad had the surname Dacre. We know he was a lay preacher prior to my dad being born in 1940 and that he moved to Rhodesia. Mt father was never told who his dad was, not even on his death bed! but his half brother says their mother (clara Slater-nee waring) told him after my fathers death. Mr Dacre who have been a lay preacher around Castleford, west yorkshire at the time and my nana lived at Three Lane Ends, Castleford. I would be glad of any information anyone can supply. |
