My great grandfather Benjamin Carter moved from Paulton to Dudley / Oldbury in the 1840s. However, he put Bristol down on the census forms. I think he may have been related to a Reuben Carter who moved to Dudley several years earlier. Looking for any document that shows the street number on Oakey Well Street where Benjamin was living when he got married in 1850.

I would also like to get in contact with anyone researching the Carter families of Paulton.

have you got his marriage cert - I guess that would say ( if indeed the houses had numbers back then)
