Allen Brook c1854 - tracing his sons.
I am trying to find any information about 3 sons born to Allen Brook c1854 born at Crosland Edge, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.
Allen's parents were Robert Brook and Betty nee Dyson both given as being born in South Crosland on successive Census entries.
Allen had 3 siblings, Joe 1852, Ann 1857 and William who only lived around 7months.
Allen Brook was married twice. His first wife was Laura Hughes Clark of Honley and is buried in Honley St. Mary's graveyard, died 18/3/1899.
They had 2 sons George Robert b.12.11.1881 at Netherton, Huddersfield and later worked as a Quarryman. He is on the 1901 census as still living with Allen and his step-mother Lilias at May Street, Crosland Moor.
Do you know if he married and had children?
The second son was Charles William b.17/10/1883 at Netherton Fold, Netherton, Hudds. He married Gertrude Cockhill and may have been in the army, I have found some records of a Charles William Brook in service archives but the name of the father doesn't match, but the general location of abode does.
There is a plaque to the War Dead on the wall of the Lockwood Baptist church that has a C W Brook inscribed on it, can anyone tell me if this is my Charles William Brook? Do you know if Charles William and Gertrude had children? If Charles William died did Gertrude re-marry?
The second wife my maternal great grandma was Lilias nee Brown born in Wakefield. Their first son was my maternal grandad Albert Brook b.26/7/1900, he married Alice Maud Picker and had two children Doris and Leslie, both sadly deceased. Albert's brother was Arthur, possibly born around 1904. I think he had a son called Kenneth, but don't know much more than that about him?
If anyone can help with any of these Brooks I would be extremely grateful.
Kindes regards
Sheila
