Hi, I am trying to find out more about my grandfather John Henry Holt. All I know about him, is that when my father was born, in December 1930 John was living at 8 Park Street, Derby. My grandmother was Mary Annie Wade (nee Annable), and they were not married. John was a bookmakers clerk. As John Henry Holt was such a popular name, I have no chance of tracing him, as I do not have birth/death details for him. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Ann Naylor

Hi there

Dont know if you have it but I found the marriage of Mary A ANNABLE to John W WADE 1913 OND
Derby. They had a son in 1916 John W Wade who died the same year.

For her parents you would need the marriage cert but I think she may have been born in 1892 AMJ Derby.

I'll have another dig around for John Henry Holt.

Regards

BRIAN

Hi Brian

Thanks for your prompt reply. Yes I was aware that my grandmother married a John Wade, but he disappeared, I just assumed he died in the great war. Didn't know she had a son by him though. I do know her parentage, it really is John Henry Holt, who is named on my fathers birth certificate who is the sticking point. Oddly enough for those days, my father was given the name Wade, although John Henry has stated himself the father,
