thanks-not so bothered abt the wife. im trying to establish how the head is connected to my family, so its really him im looking for in 71

If you look at the image for the 1881 census William's mother and sister are at the same address, but listed as a separate household.

His mother is Emma E. Wallen, a widow, and his sister is also Emma E. Wallen, age 34.

It also looks as if his brother Henry A. Wallen is living at the same address with his family.
