I am trying to find the family of one of my ancestors, Her name was Jane Batten estimated dob is 1844 , I have her fathers name her marriage certificates (she married twice)First to a Gaston Louis Vignal who i believe was french and shows up nowhere ! then a Samuel Wright (Gentleman) but on the 1851 census two (Jane Batten's) show up that could be her minus her Father William Battern (Architect) I am not sure how to work this out as they are both listed as living in the area she is from and both are listed as being scholars which she was |

Hi, Well I have just recieved her marriage cetificates from a cousin in Australia and I have found Her and her first husband Gaston l Vignal on it 19thMay 1864 in Bloombury Middlesex, But I cannot find them on any census and I have just realised that we believe their daughter (Emily Aderlaide ) was born in south America, so maybe thats why they were abroad????
