This is confusing, he seems to have a different wife on the 1841 census:
Proctor St., Rochdale, Lancashire
Hiram Lord, 50, weaver
Elizabeth, 45
Abraham, 14
Hannah, 3
William, 2
All born in county.

Here's the christenings of the 2 children of Hiram & Elizabeth. The same 2 chidren are with Hiram & Alice in 1851 so Elizabeth must have died between the birth of William 1839 and the marriage of Hiram & Alice 1844. I checked Free BMD and there are no fewer than 7 Elizabeth Lords who died in Rochdale between those years!
