Fran,

If you know the names, then you can search on the "documents online" on national archives for the medal cards. (free to search) Each costs £3.50 to download.

there are also some pension records for WW1 and the Boer war in ancestry if the person survived.

happy to do lookups on ancestry if you post names, DOB and place of birth if known.

I can't tell you where to search, but sometimes (not always) the name and number of the recipient is printed round the rim of the medal.

We hadn't noticed this on my father-in-law's medals until someone told us about it.

I have been given a collection of medals that various members of the family have been awarded......but I have no idea which ones belong to who and would love to get clarification....any ideas where I can search names and the medals they were awarded????

Thanks
Fran
