Hellicopter1955 Report 29 Dec 2007 09:55

Hi,
My Grandafather Francis Stopher (1896) married Rose Brown (1897) and my mother was born in Tottenham, 1921. Mum was 6 months old when they emigrated to Australia on the Barradine. Mum had six other brothers and sisters after they migrated, but had little contact with relatives in the UK following this.
Nanna (Rose Brown) had five brothers andd sisters:
George, Fredrick, Florence, Edith and Ernest.
Does anyone know of our relatives please? Mum is now 86 years old.
Thanks in anticipation,
Helen

Can't find a marriage for Frank and Ellen but purchasing the birth certificate from
www.gro.gov.uk using the reference given would give mother's maiden name.

Hi,
Thanks for that,
That is my grandfather, but he was an only child - I was wondering If there are some of my Grandmothers relatives out there, Nana (Rose Browns') parents were George Brown (c 1862) and Lucy Hutcherson (c 1863).
Francis (Frank) Stopher (1858), my great grandfather was married to Ellen Choat (1858-1907).
Thanks again,
Helen Plumb.

Hi Pam,
I think that means George and Fredrick were twins (I had different years for each of them) and Ernest was born yet (1901). Nana was second youngest according to my Mum (Rose Plumb nee Stopher).
Helen.

Pam

Pam Report 1 Jan 2008 10:23

I don't think they are twins as on the 1891 census
George W. is 9
Frederick J is 7

Try to find them on http://freebmd.rootsweb.com
