I am trying to find info on a Thomas McGill
Census records are a bit conflicting

He Married a Mary Ellen O'Gara from Batley West Yorkshire in 1889 i believe

I have found a reference to Mary Ellens parents as being a Thomas(b1847c) and Margaret (b1849c) m1870. BUT

I can find no trace of Thomas/William i found a William Thomas from Burnley married a Mary Ellen O'Gara (from Batley) in 1889 think they maybe who i need but his name was spelt MacGill not McGill.

I did some research a while back and found that way before this marriage and i think that both the McGills and the O'Gara's originate in the early 1800's from either Cavan or Sligo in Ireland. So i think the families were probably known to each other
and that there is probably some Irish Society in Yorkshire that may have records of Irish Immigrants.

Any help would be good as this part of my family is really hard to locate

Thanks
